The Regional Communications Manager for the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Regions determines, develops and applies CBC/Radio-Canada French Services communications. You also ensure objectives are met and monitor their attainment by overseeing communications-related activities such as media and public relations, partnerships, internal relations, audience relations, advertising, marketing, and interactive communications; organize and supervise the various phases of communications campaigns; analyze campaign impact and decide what action is required to achieve regional and corporate communications objectives from a marketing standpoint; represent the Corporation in the community and act as its official spokesperson; establish and maintain relations with the various levels of management; determine, plan, and develop communications strategies, also advising the programming units; define and coordinate internal/external strategies; and convey and apply corporate communications strategies in your region.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • University degree in a communications-related field.
  • Six to eight years’ relevant experience.
  • Proven experience developing and carrying out strategic communications plans.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal/external communications, PR, graphic production, TV and radio promo production, web 2.0, and management.
  • Strong team management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the region served (socio-demographics, politics, arts & entertainment, etc.); able to analyze various studies and specialized data.
  • Creativity needed to spearhead, drive and guide the development of innovative strategic communications plans.
  • Able to maintain good relations with in-house and outside partners.
  • Good powers of persuasion; excellent communicator.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Solid grasp of the public broadcaster’s role and function.
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Bilingual (written and spoken).
