Description:

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency is seeking a strategic communication professional with exceptional written and verbal skills to join our Communications team for a 13 month term. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Consultant is responsible for providing communications services and leadership for the Agency.


Required Qualifications:

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Journalism supplemented with several years’ experience in a communications role, or a suitable combination of education and experience.

We offer a full range of benefits and competitive compensation. The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency offers working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Requirements/Skills:
• Knowledge of strategic communications planning, communication industry trends, best practices and standards. Experience writing communication materials, such as new releases, key messages, speaking notes, articles, and content for the intranet, website and social media channels.
• Knowledge of media relations and experience handling media inquiries and planning news conferences and events.
• Knowledge of social media tools and experience using a variety of social media channels and platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems and related business and communication tools.
• Excellent written, editing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with different individuals or groups.
• Works well under pressure and can meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of desktop publishing software, such as InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver is an asset.
• Membership and/or designation to a professional association such as IABC or CPRS is an asset.

The pay range for this position is $66,370 to $86,280 per annum. The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency also offers an attractive benefits package. Interested applicants are invited to submit their resume in confidence no later than January 21, 2021 to:
