2015 Regina Communicator Awards celebrate local communications excellence

The second annual Regina Communicator Awards gala took place on May 8th, with several awards handed out in recognition of local communications excellence.

Five outstanding leaders were honoured for their accomplishments and contributions to our profession. They are:

Rikki Boté
Ministries of Advanced Education and Labour Relations and Workplace Safety

Rikki was recognized as a great example of someone who has consistently given back to Regina’s communications community. Notably, she has helped mentor several junior communicators to the benefit of several non-profits in the city formally and informally as part of our chapter’s mentorship program.

Leslie-Ann Schlosser

A new award this year, the Rising Star Communicator Award recognizes the communication leaders of tomorrow. Leslie-Ann was nominated for her ability to think strategically and her reputation as a reliable go-getter.

Audrey Wolf-Kaminski
Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission

This award recognizes a communicator who shows a track record of innovation and best practice in their work. Audrey’s win in this category is a testament to her commitment to communication excellence and work that makes our chapter stand out. She’s regarded by her colleagues as a lifelong learner, a highly strategic communicator, and as someone who consistently delivers quality products.

Anna Willey, MC, ABC

Anna has had a significant and lasting impact on our profession, as a source of experience, insight and vision in communications. She’s widely recognized as a communications leader in the province, and through her career has devoted significant time and effort to give back to the people and organizations in her community. She has been a mentor to many and continues to inspire young communicators to innovate and never stop learning.

Don Morris
Regional Vice President, Royal Bank of Canada and 2014 United Way Campaign Chair

The IABC/Regina Executive Communicator of the Year Award is given to the organizational leader who demonstrates excellence in communications and actively values the role that the communication profession can strategically bring to their company and their customers.

Don Morris has been described as authentic, passionate, and a true leader by the business communicators that have worked with him. For his outstanding ability to represent the Royal Bank of Canada with warmth and personality, and for doing the same as chair of the 2014 United Way campaign, we’re proud to name Don CEO Communicator of the Year.

We would also like to recognize our organizers, sponsors and volunteers for making the 2015 edition of the Regina Communicator Awards one to remember. See you next year!
