Edmonton – The International Association of Business Communicators [IABC] Canada is honoring three communicators from Newfoundland, Ontario and Saskatchewan with the status of Master Communicator [MC]. They are:
Martha Muzychka is a Principal with Praxis Communications in St. John’s, which she founded in 2005. Her clients have included those from key and sensitive areas such as AIDS, autism, mental health, tobacco, violence prevention and women’s issues. For the last 30 years she has taught, coached and mentored hundreds of communication professionals and worked with hundreds of organizations to demonstrate the value of strategic communication as a business driver.

Sylvia Link is the Manager of Communications for the Peel District School Board for which she has developed strategies for 20,000 employees, 150,000 students, and a culturally diverse community of 1.3 million people. She is considered a leading communication professional in K‐12 education. As the Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the Ontario Ministry of Education she helped to launch ongoing communication and promotion of full‐day kindergarten in the province.

Claire Watson, from Regina, is Vice-President Strategic Communication Management with Cropley Communication of Melbourne, Australia, as well as owning her own firm, Words with Wings Strategic Communication. She has been recognized with 29 IABC International Gold Quill awards and more than 150 Canadian and provincial awards for communication excellence.

All three had previously earned their accredited business communicators [ABC] designation from IABC. Criteria for the Master Communicator award are:
Since the program began 35 years ago in 1980 there have been only 49 recipients. Now, there will be 52. IABC Canada will present the Master Communicator awards when IABC Canada meets in Calgary October 15-17.
A six-member committee of Master Communicators selected the recipients.
